Lead magnet competition - don't do it!

Lead magnet competition - don't do it!

If you want to catch the attention of someone, make sure you focus on just 1 thing -- not multiple! A lead magnet, or an item (freebie, video, download, report, etc.) used in combination with an opt-in to attract and capture leads, is most effective and best received when it's alone.

Just like a landing page should be free of distractions, a lead magnet should be free of distractions too! If you tack on multiple lead magnets thinking that MORE will attract MORE leads, your opt-in will most likely fail.

However, if you stretch your lead magnets along your funnel, it will be a much more likely to work. Also, it's important to note that I'm not talking about upsells or bonus offerings. Those things, at the end of the sales funnel can most certainly sweeten the deal and attract a full sale. But starting off with multiple lead magnets that distract the potential lead will do just the opposite!
