Amazon is a powerful household name and one that won’t be going anywhere for awhile (if ever). With over 119 million products available on their site, 4,000 items sold per minute, and 2.5 million sellers, it can be tempting for businesses to run Facebook ads directly to Amazon. (Source: 10 Amazon Statistics You Need To Know In 2020).
While no one would argue with the fact that Amazon is amazing in many ways, it is a better platform to be used for businesses to get off the ground. However, all savvy business owners must keep in mind that they take a cut from your profits and that can be tough for businesses to swallow. What’s worse is that Amazon’s fees can add up to a lot of lost profit over time and make it much more difficult for you to scale your business, if at all. 
Rather than having Amazon take a large chunk of your profit and hinder your business’ growth, a better alternative is having your own Shopify store. This will give you WAY more control as a business owner, and ultimately allows you to make more money, and keep more of the money you make.
When you decide to move off of Amazon, keep in mind that you shouldn't just create any store. You may be tempted to turn to Wordpress but we’ll caution you to avoid this platform and instead create a store on the Shopify platform. Why? Because it's MUCH faster than Wordpress, easier to use, more Facebook friendly than any other ecommerce platform, and typically we see higher website conversion rates with Shopify stores. While Wordpress has been around much longer and might be more widely known, it just doesn’t even compare to what Shopify can offer. 
All of these reasons are why we exclusively work with Shopify stores. We don't run Facebook ads for Amazon listings because we can't place the pixel on Amazon. This equates to no tracking ability and no possibility of further optimization, which is a huge pitfall for any business!
