Where to start when marketing a new product or service launch
Updated: Jul 8
So you’re getting ready to launch a new product or service. Awesome! Do you have a Facebook following, an email list, or customers? Yes? The first thing you want to do is leverage this warm audience. Why? Because they know you!
It’s important to note that a warmer audience is always going to be cheaper to convert than a cold audience. If you’re new to online marketing or even just starting to do it (or learn it) yourself, I suggest focusing on building your audience and your rapport with them. Then, plan your launch strategies around getting in front of this audience who already knows you.
How do you do this? Via retargeting and email campaigns. These are 2 marketing strategies used to get in front of people who already know you.
If you have an email list, the first thing you can do is to notify them of your latest launch with a new email campaign sent directly to them. Then (or alternatively), begin retargeting by Facebook advertising. In Facebook, you can create something called a custom audience by uploading your email list(s). Once it’s uploaded, you can then target your Facebook ads directly to the people in your list.
This isn't to say that a cold audience won't convert. It most certainly can! But focusing only on converting a cold audience can seem like an exercise in futility if you don't know what you're doing.
