If you change 1 thing for your business today, do this

Our cellphones have become an extension of ourselves. These mini computers fit in the palms of our hands and allow us to instantly search anything on Google, browse Facebook at any time, and take the internet with us almost everywhere we go. While this is both awesome and creepy at the same time, it’s simply the reality today.
So what does this mean for online businesses? Your online presence must be mobile-friendly! Luckily, your Facebook, Twitter and any other social network pages are already mobile-friendly -- they even have their own apps -- so you don’t need to worry about that. It’s your website that you need to double check. See, not every web development platform automatically creates a good mobile-friendly version of each site, so you’ll need to investigate yourself. (TIP: Look for the desktop vs. mobile view when in editing mode.)
Think about it this way. If half of your website visitors are coming from a mobile device and your pages look all wonky, then half of those visitors are just going to leave immediately and thus can be a huge reason for a high bounce rate showing up on your website analytics. Why would you want to miss out on all of those potential customers?
I’ve worked with many businesses who begin online advertising on their own and then hire me to optimize their campaigns for them. One of the first things I check is their mobile website and it makes me cringe every time I discover one that's not optimized! I’m a huge fan of advertising, specifically Facebook advertising, but if your site isn’t mobile-friendly then be sure to turn off all mobile devices on the placement of the ads. If you don’t do that, your ads will be shown on all devices, including mobile devices, and you’ll be throwing away money. Don’t get me wrong, only displaying ads on desktop devices is fine but it is almost always more expensive. Mobile ads are really the way to go!
So, if you only do 1 thing for your business today, make sure you check out your business' website on your phone or tablet. Does everything show up? Is anything overlapping? Is the font large enough for people to read? If it looks odd in any way, go to your website editor and make edits on the mobile side until it's easy for visitors to view, navigate and read.
